As you guys know by now I tend to chose natural, organic, vegan products for most of my beauty needs. The reason why is I’m super to chemicals and I want to treat my body the best way possible. I’m very careful with what I chose to put on my skin, since my skin is the biggest organ that can absorb all those yucky toxic chemicals. Moving from Southern California to Arizona was quite a shock when I realized that not everyone here cares so much about natural skin care. I was already doing sugaring for my Brazilian for over a year but I realized that sugaring wasn’t as common here in Arizona. In fact I only found on salon in the Phoenix area that offered it. Sugar Sugar AZ. The owner of Sugar sugar is so sweet check below for a discount code!
I choose to do natural hair removal for my Brazilian because I am prone to ingrown hairs, I blame it on years of living life in leggings. I tried waxing but it was painful, I had to go every two weeks because it didn’t get all the hairs, and I also stopped because having hot wax filled with who knows what on my private parts were not my jam.
I love sugaring because its 100% organic, it is made from sugar, lemon and water (per SugarSugar) they also never double dip, cruelty free, and they remove hair as little as 1/8th of an inch and it is removed in the natural direction of hair. Waxing goes against the grain. It is also only slightly warm, so no burns, and also only adheres to dead skin and hair which I found was less painful. So because of all these reason I know it is safe no matter where I am on my life journey.
I get sugared every 3-4 weeks depending on when I get my eyelash extensions refilled since I can get everything done at the same salon. It works for me since I am in a bathing suit so often (that AZ life) I don’t like to have hair on my bikini line haha. Also my hair grows super fast so you may be able to go longer than me. I don’t feel a thing anymore when I get sugared unless I have a crazy ingrown hair that I was picking at. Yes I’m human and pick things I’m not supposed to. In the beginning it was a little painful, but more of a quick AH and then it was fine, but now its so quick I forget I’m even having my hair removed.
I’m going to spare you a photo of me actually being sugared because no one needs to see that. But here is the actual sugar that they use.
If you are in the Phoenix Area I would highly suggest to check out Sugar Sugar for all your hair removal needs. I also get my eyebrows done there because sugar doesn’t pull the skin I don’t have to worry about saggy eyebrows. My esthetician is Julissa and I am so glad she has been my girl for over a year. Sugar Sugar has two locations, one in North Phoenix and their new location in Arcadia. This is also where I get my vegan eyelash extensions, organic spray tan that is made from fruits and vegetables, and where the Owner treated me to the Scottsdale organic facial last week and my skin is still glowing! I will do another post going into more deets on my eyelash extensions, their facials and spray tan so drop all your questions below so I can ask at my next visit.
The owner of Sugar Sugar is so amazing she is giving all you local babes a discount code. Use code: CAHILL for 20% off one service: excludes leg sugaring. You can book here
